About Us

The East Cherry Creek Valley Water and Sanitation District serves approximately 50,000 people in the eastern portions of the City of Centennial and unincorporated Arapahoe County. ECCV is a Colorado Special District governed by Colorado Revised Statute Title 32. As such we have an elected Board of Directors. The Board is elected by the registered voters of the District.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT At its 34th Annual Conference, the Special District Association of Colorado (SDA) honored Dave Kaunisto from the East Cherry Creek Valley Water and Sanitation District with its 2009 Manager of the Year Award. SDA annually presents this award to one special district manager who has demonstrated outstanding leadership, dedication and service to his or her district. The award was announced at the SDA Annual Conference which was held in Keystone, September 23-25, 2009. Dave Kaunisto has put East Cherry Creek Valley Water and Sanitation at the forefront of new partnerships and ground-breaking projects in his 12 years as manager of the District. Dave has been instrumental in providing leadership for the planning, acquisition and development of water supplies and infrastructure to meet the long-term needs of the District and other South Metro water providers. He has implemented a water rate structure designed to fund these forward-thinking projects.  The rate structure includes a renewable water supply component, tiered water rate structure and water budgets to encourage water conservation. In addition to his work with ECCV, Dave sits on the Board of Directors of the South Metro Water Supply Authority and is a member of the Upper Cherry Creek Water Authority and the Inter Basin Compact Metro Basin Roundtable. Because of Dave’s dedication to special districts, The Special District Association is proud to recognize him as the 2009 Manager of the Year.
